Tony's  Grin  When I was going to the Bayou Classic on the regular, we'd make a pit stop in Baton Rouge and load the coolers with boudoin and everything else we could fit in there to bring back to Atlanta....

LaDuke:  Tony's sends out orders all over the country now.  They have a website where you can place an order, have it packed in dry ice and shipped to you.  I was happy to discover this as I was tired of having to leave my clothes to bring catfish, manda's sausage, red beans, etc. to my family when I visited them.  I'd have to pay extra on my flight for their coolers, etc.

Another good place for boudoin, cracklins, deer sausage, andouille, turduckens, hog head cheese etc. is Benoit's (pronounced "Benwars")on LA 1 on the way to my hometown of Plaquemine.  I don't think they have gone high tech yet, but they have some great stuff.  (Now you see why we Louisianians die young (but with happy taste buds).  You cross the river from Baton Rouge, get on LA 1 South and go about 15 miles.  Your taste buds will love it.

Soror,

My cousin, who is a Jag and lives in Lafayette, has mentioned Benoit's on several occasions...when we were there for his son's wedding, he had some head cheese and cracklins from there for my momma. I guess I thot it was a meat market... nod
