Mark my words. NCCU will also become a very good, top quality 300+ piece Marching Band someday soon, as well, and return back to the Honda Battle of the Bands, in the future. That is what additional student program support and Athletics growth to Division I is all about, in NCCU's future.

As said earlier, NCCU is grateful for the past Blessings at Honda and congratulates the 2011 Honda Battle of the Bands Showcase.

Now, I would further urge all of the North Carolina HBCU Marching Band Fans to fully support Winston-Salem State at the 2011 Honda Showcase, as The WSSU "Red Sea of Sound" Represents for all of us, from the State of North Carolina.  "Go Get them RAMs !!!!

Good Luck, God Bless and Take care!

We are still NCCU and don't you forget it.  Forget the Honda Battle of the bands, we don't need them anyway.  We should put our own battle together for the northern schools. nod

NOPE!!! NCCU has been there many years and has financially benefited greatly due to their appearances.  Just b/c they aren't voted in, why would you want to boycott a program that donates $20,000 plus travel, food and lodging to another HBCU music program? True enough NCCU brought a different style to Honda. Some loved it and some thought it was weird but that's ok b/c variety is the spice of life, which is another reason we should want to see different bands selected. Nevertheless, I wish the Eagles much success in CA. Represent the HBCU world  clap

So are you saying ALL of the bands (other than NCCU) look, sound and march alike Roll Eyes? NCCU is a great collegiate band but the HBCU world has MANY programs that brings something new and exciting to this event. I am sure this event will be great with/without NCCU just because....

I am thoroughly pleased with this line-up. We have a nice variety of small, mid-size and large bands. I wonder who the Atlanta guest artist will be this time around. We have had the Ying Yang twins, Young Dro, Llyod, The Dream and last time Ludacris.  I've already purchased my hotel in downtown ATL, I just need to get my flights Grin.
