Dang!  The sins of the past has caught up to the present.   Angry .  We're in DII for literally seconds, and already in trouble for sins committed in the past.

The penalties in this case include:

•Public reprimand and censure (self-imposed by the university).

•Three years of probation from September 2, 2010, through September 1, 2013 (self-imposed by the university).

•Three-year show-cause order for the former track coach from September 2, 2010, through September 1, 2013.

•No expense-paid recruiting visits or off-campus recruiting opportunities during one year of the probation for men’s basketball, as well as men’s indoor and outdoor track and field (self-imposed by the university).

•$5,000 penalty to the NCAA (self-imposed by the university).

•Vacation of records for all competitions in which ineligible student-athletes competed in the 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2008-09 seasons (self-imposed by the university). The public report includes additional details.

•One-year television ban for men’s basketball and men’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams (self-imposed by the university).

•Two-year postseason ban for men’s indoor and outdoor track. One-year postseason ban for men’s basketball (self-imposed by the university).  One-year postseason ban for all other sports (imposed by the Committee on Infractions). The public report includes additional details.

No post season Basketball appearances other than conference tournaments for a year and a one year TV ban.

No post season T&F appearances other than conference championships and a two year TV ban.

The vacation of the records includes two NCAA T&F Championships, and four NCAA runner-up trophies.

Damn Tiger! Just think, we turned up our little noses  at Benedict College, and drug then through the streets of Columbia  when they asked to come in the conference.   Then we turn right around and  jump right into bed with a wolf dressed like a sheep.  lol Oh well, look for the positive. That TV appearance thingy is a non-issue. I don't even know why they included it. They should have hit y'all where it really hurts and said no chicken plates after the game.

Cap:

I have to laugh to keep from crying.  After getting more info, Lincoln Athletics were aware of these issues and was the reason they removed the former track, and men's basketball coaches.  Most of the penalties were self imposed except former track coach and AD Jones cannot go any other NCAA institutions, and we vacated two championship trophies, and four runner up trophies.

We get to keep selling chicken & fish dinners to pay for the fine.   Grin

On a serious note, I think our AD D. Ford-Kee is bringing in the right type of coaches and staff to Lincoln.  Our new T&T/XC coach from Grand Valley State University is the right guy.  Now we have to do the right thing in hiring the right men's basketball coach.  I'm sure tha the fact that we're in the CIAA, there is no shortage of applications for the position.

Oh btw, we were Lions dressed in sheep's clothing.  Please don't ever ever confuse us with some wolves.  nono2  That other HBCU in Pennsylvania are the wolves.

Ok back up....this is not good. If the school has a self imposed no TV ban. Then Lincoln may as well not show up for the CIAA tournament. This is the same thing that almost happened to the SIAC and Lane a few years ago. It will be interesting to see if this ban gets suddenly lifted before basketball season.

Wink  You hit the nail on the head with "self imposed".
