before the great onnidan crash of 2008 the prospects of having a union in 2009 was very popular.  

the plan is to have the first onnidan union in raleigh, nc.  that is where ow lives and he should not have to travel for the first onnidan union.  

the union will take place during the second weekend of july in 2011.  more info on a host hotel, tours of shaw university, saint augustine's college, and black businesses will be announced later.

lol @ the "great Onnidan crash of 2008" lol Sounds like when the stock market crashed in 1929, (I think that is the right year). lol

I love to meet up with people from Onnidan. nod I remember meeting at the Spaghetti Factory not too long ago. nod

jaimac, for now yes.  if someone that is closer to raleigh wants to take over that would be better.  also, if someone works for or has a friend, relative, etc. that works for an airline or hotel and can acquire some good rates would be appreciated. 

the plan is to meet in raleigh and tour shaw and saint augustine's college.  also, to eat at black owned restaurants.  for those who are still in town on sunday morning to attend a local black church and tour the church.  the plan is to meet with several of the coaches, administrators, and students at both schools.  also, if the posters would like it can be set up to have a meeting with an administrator and discuss what they are doing to enhance their alumni giving, athletic giving, student retention, etc.  we could take what we learn and bring a few things back to our schools.

if anyone wants to lend a hand, has suggestions, wants to take the lead, please contact me. 

also, with raleigh being in ciaa country it would be great to rotate future reunions amongst the hbcu conferences.
