Brother T and Jay Thomas,

And you know this man! It was a site to see! nod That was my first taste of HBCUs back then. Family really didn't go to HBCU's with the exception of my dad (CAU).  It was not till in high school when our football season was cancelled that the band director took us to FAMU to march in their homecoming show and also to Tuskegee to play that I knew about HBCU's. Loved them ever since.  I remember when back in freshman year when I was a mere Wildcub, my family was helping me move into Moore Hall when the FVSU Blue Machine marched down the Greek Walk and they WERE ON POINT WITH IT! I looked at my mother and said "I WANT TO BE IN THAT!" She smiled and said her favorite phrase when she don't want to say no..."Maybe".   Roll Eyes  When I saw that I feel in love with not just the Blue Machine, but just bands in general. Coming out of high school band I knew the work they have to put in to give you 10 minutes of show and so they had my absolute respect. nod  This is why I'm so defensive about them to this day.  nod

Time to be honest here, Flags have been slipping over the last decade.  They seem as if they have gone from being great to being the "act" before the dancing dolls and that is tragic. I can understand how you feel about it. I guess its the eternal optimist in me, I just know they can get better and reclaim their spot, they just have to have a cockiness about themselves and believe they are the hottest part of the act and practice like that.  Embrace nothing but perfection and if they practice like that, IT WILL SHOW ON THE FIELD AT SHOW TIME.  nod
