What is the status of naming a new women's basketball coach at WSSU?  There is speculation here in Greensboro among the fans of Dudley High School that Dudley Coach Kris Britton will be the next head coach at WSSU.  Coach B resigned as Dudley's head coach on Monday in order to pursue a job as a college coach.  She is also a native of Winston Salem and a graduate of Carver High School and Appalachian State.

Coach Britton's record in 6 years at Dudley was 152 - 29.  Among her accomplishments were:

* Led her team to five conference titles, five regional appearances and the 2009 3-A state title

* Coached 20 All-Conference players, including Player of the Year all six seasons

* Four-time conference coach of the year, two-time News & Record coach of the year

* Of the 19 seniors Britton coached, 14 earned full basketball scholarships. All 19 attended college or went into the military. Their average GPA was 3.85

I would not be surprised if NCCU Alum, AG Hall gets a call from from Bill Hayes, regarding this job.

Take Care!
