I remember back in the day, TSU's majorettes used to really look good.
They still have pretty girls on their dance squad but they
dance like white girls trying to dance like black girls but worse.
Stiff. Tired moves. Same ole same ole. Who's grandmother is coordinating this foolishness?

My sister used to say a lady named Ms. Gentry (I think her first name was Judy) used to be the head....don't know if she still is now.......but according to her that is why they do what she calls "fast ballet" and why they used to wear those UGLY silver stockings....
How good they are or aren't is in the eye of the beholder though.....I am sure there are those who think the Sophisticated Ladies are the Cat's Meow.......I don't know either way..all I know is I am glad they don't wear those fugly silver britches anymore...

Its all subjective but I will say I need to see more from them to say they are bad. This could just be a bad routine. It happens. :nod: Just go back and re group and come harder next week. :nod:

I've seen all of the SWAC, MEAC, SIAC dancers including Tenn State, SSU, NCCU, etc....and some of the CIAA.
This is just a stand routine. I've seen the Sophisticated Ladies numerous times.
Mr Soul is right about them used to being HOT STUFF back in the day.
Not sure if I would call the the worst, but they aren't on my 10 favorite hbcu dancers list....okay, if I had a list.
My Top 10 would be:
JSU's Prancing Jsettes
SU's Dancing Dolls
Tuskegee's Piperettes
Morehouse's Mahogany In Motion
Texas Southern's Motion of the Ocean
SCSU's Champagne
BCU's 14 Karat Gold
Alabama State's Stingettes
PV A&M's Black Foxes
Morgan State's Foxy Dancers
I'd also throw in Howard's Ooh La La dancers,
Norfolk State's HOT ICE and Hampton's Ebony Fire
