Like Joe Clark said about Eastside High in the movie Lean on Me after they got rid of him the first time I say the same about Notre Dame after they got rid of my homeboy Ty: "This School deserves what it gets"!!!

Well, it's not like Ty left Notre Dame and set world on fire either. I mean, didn't he get fired by Washington after not winning a game last season?

Don't bring that up.  That is not fair. . you know that ain't fair.  Why you bringing up old stuff? lol

Mich. is rebuilding a new house and it will take time to get the parts needed for that.  The Mich fans were told this when they brought in Rod.  The big ten is not known for running the spread offense.  The Mich D is killing them, the O can score some points but they need more Aths. on both side of the ball.

ND good for them, Truth be told they did not want Ty in the start the coach from GT was their man but at the last minute it came out he lied on his resume, so they scrambled for someone and got Ty. Ty was fired before he was hired

The funny part about ND is their grad CW pimped them out all of that money the first year he was  telling them the pro's want me so they gave all the big money for him. Nothing wrong in getting paid but he got greedy

Please ND and Mich will not merge in anything.
Rush and Hannity would support  our current President before that happen

I don’t know if this is a fair comparison to make, considering you are dealing with extreme differences across the board, but I will try.  Folks who attend smaller school in the FBS or FCS/DII act like the Michigans and Notre Dames and whatever big-time BCS schools are the only football programs in the country who are demanding and want to fire coaches for “not getting it done right away.”

We can sit here and debate whether it was justified for Notre Dame to fire Ty Willingham when they did. Heck, he had one good season in the four years he was the coach and did not win a bowl game.  But that is another story.

I like to troll around other sports message boards just to get the feel of what other fans are saying about their coaches.

At JSU, the folks want to fire Rick Comegy after four years. Say what you want about his coaching style or personality, but he won the SWAC title his second season and appeared in the championship game again the following season. Now, after a 3-7 season the fans what him gone.  How fair is that?
In my opinion that would be worse than Notre Dame firing Willingham or Rich-Rod being fired at Michigan.  Those firings could be at least justified. Those teams bombed. You can even justify firing Weis as well.
I don’t see how Comegy’s could be.

I read somewhere a few weeks back that a coach or several coaches at one of the HBCU Alabama schools had their vehicle tires slashed.

It is the same at other middle class schools as well.
We try to act like we are not demanding of our football programs as fans like the BCS schools, but we are. No different than Notre Dame or Michigan.  Now the administration who runs the athletic departments at small schools might be lacking in ability to make quality decisions, but we as fans are demanding and rabid just like everyone else.  We are Notre Dame and Michigan just without the big time television contracts and million dollar coaches.

Soflorattler ,

My sentiments, exactly!!!  Why are we even discussing them on this site?  They will not even print the scores and stories of HBCUs in the newspapers or cover us on the local sports news.  For the most part they act as if we don't even exist.  I know I'll get a lot of different opinions but this is just one man's opinion.

Coach Ty was the best thing to ever happen to Notre Dame.......................Bottom line.

I definitely agree with you on that one. nod

If he were, don't y'all think he'd still be coaching there?

Any coach accepting the Notre Dame job has to understand  its expectations,  & the consequences for failing to meet them.

PM your email. I can detail how things were at Notre Dame while coach Ty was there and how they are now that he is gone. I was apart Coach Ty's 2003 signing class.

He didn't set the world on fire at Washington because the Huskies were on probation when he took over the program and it seems to me as soon as they were fully reinstated. The school decided to go in another direction. But I digress, I'm with my brothers who say SCREW PWC's
