I hope they both honor the contracts of their hand picked coaches and continue to suffer!

Don't most big-time BCS schools hand pick their coaches?

Yeah, but most actually upgrade from what they had.  It was more than debatable whether Weis and Rodriguez were marked upgrades to what each had or even the best candidates from the available pool.  Weis only success was with the previous coaches players and pizz poor Rodriguez barely got it done at West Virginia.  It doesn't seem to take much to win the Big East.

These two joke a-- programs deserve what the got.  They should try to prove everyone wrong and honor these guys contract their Michigan and Notre Dame wins will walk through their doors right.

Wait a minute.  Rich-Rod was/is at least I thought was a good coach. Are you one of these crazy people who think if a coach does not have success in the SEC that it does not matter?  lol

Rich-Rod, did beat the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl and was one win away from taking West Virgina to the BCS championship game. Mind you this is at WEST VIRGINIA!!!

Additionally, I don't buy the whole think that just because a new coach has success with the previous administrations recruits discredits his accomplishments.

I mean, while you could say Weis did win with Ty's players, you could say that Ty won his first season with Bob Davie's players. And you could make the argument that Urban Meyer won his first national championship with Ron Zook's players.  You could argue that Nick Saban was very successful at Alabama his first few seasons with Mike Shula's players.

It don't matter to me. If the coach who was let go could not win with his players, and the next guy does, too bad. The new guy gets the credit in my book. And if the new guy loses, well, he gets the blame as well.

Just another dumb college sports argument.

And to say Michigan is a joke program really shows the intelligence on your part. Michigan has the most wins in college football history. You could say Notre Dame is a joke, but not Michigan. They have actually functioned like a real college football team the last 20 years unlike their South Bend brothers.

Jumbo97, you're laying it on a bit thick aren't you.  Rich Rod is not a bad coach.  He might have done WVU kind of wrong, but I mean that's MICHIGAN.   He'd already turned down Alabama, and the 'pedigree' programs only come knocking so many times.

Now I disagree with how Michigan ushered out Lloyd Carr, but to say Rich Rod barely got it done at West Virginia is a flat out lie.  West Virginia had back-to-back top ten seasons under his program.   Michigan's current problem is not Rich, it's a lack of defensive talent.  Once he gets some defensive recruits, he'll be okay.

If he were, don't y'all think he'd still be coaching there?

Any coach accepting the Notre Dame job has to understand  its expectations,  & the consequences for failing to meet them.

Weiss was maybe the tenth choice. They had interviewed maybe four to six coaches before him and had spoke to other coaches. I agree with your statement but Weiss was way down the list and the only reason he got on the list was because he was a grad of the school. Remember they dropped the ball on going after Myer.

Well, it's not like Ty left Notre Dame and set world on fire either. I mean, didn't he get fired by Washington after not winning a game last season?
