Scstateslum: Teams always go after coaches that being around successful programs..  SSU did hired whiteboy that had ties to your alma mater...  He wasn't that great defensive coordinator at Benedict College whatsoever...  Do you think we need outsourced every head coaching job to folks with no connections to those outside of Black College Football?

P.S. good luck against Edwards and company on Saturday..

I think we need to hire the best coaches we can.  Period. Regadless of race or hbcu ties. If the best Coach has hbcu ties, great.  If not who cares. You do your school and program a disservice to hire a coach for any other reason than he is the best most qualified choice.  Wells didn't get ssus job cause he had ties to Pough or an hbcu.  He got it cause he was the best choice.

Alum: I'm tired of our schools bypassing black assistants in Black College Football for cats from FBS and white assistants.. There plenty are qualfied assistant coaches deserves their chance to become head football coach.. Why not take chance on coaches like Karl Morgan, Perez Boulware, Leon Murray, Derek Hill, Alvin Parker,  James Woody, Cedric Pearl and former Alabama State Defensive Coordinator Tony Pirece?  Remember, Coach Pough was once assistant in black college football before working for Lou Holtz at USC..

Wells did finnish season with 4-7 record... And one of loses came by the hands of NAIA powder puff Weber International...  This is same reasons why they fired Lemon back in 07...

BTW, BC2k5 happen to be my brother..

Guess jsu don't agree with your assessment of James woody.   He just got fired.

Pough didn't get the job on hbcu experience.  He got it cause he was the best coach.

Wells was and is the best coach.  Let ssu fund his scholarships fully then we will see

no surprise you 2 are related

Black coaches shouild get a shot no doubt.  But because they earn it.  Not just cause they are black or have hbcu experience.  You hurt the coach and your school hiring them for any other reason.

Marauderslim... what give's you the right to call webber International a powder puff team.... well you need to do a lil home work on that football team.... they have beat more then savannah state in black college football, Edward water's  concordia selma last year, and maybe 5-6 years ago they beat shaw.. and they give St. Pauls a run for there money for the past two years 08- 13-9 and this season 24-21... there offensive coordinator this year is a by product of HBCU stillman college and has done some really good things as a head coach in the arena/indoor leagues "like won 2 championships " powder puff not by far a good lower level football team maybe... but powder puff nope..... that Team is loaded with young football talent from the state of Fl...
