Havn't heard anything from the Panthers of Clark AU as Hal Lamar calls them. But after Coach Higdon stepped in and finished out the season as the Interim-HC I wouldn't doubt if he has his name in the hat or they just decide to give him a chance to lead the Panthers. Again this is another young Coach in the making. I think he deserves a shot after all he has worked with Coach Bahur and both him and Bahur were assistants with Coach Comegy at Tuskegee. So I wouldn't surprise if they decide to go with him. Coach Bahur left them with some outstanding athletes and great Coaching staff so they are a decent team that I think will do well in 2010. So sad that our HBCU's keep applicants in suspense but that's the way they operate. Especially since they fired Coach Bahur probably in the middle of his Contract. But we'll see what happens in the Panthers Den. nod

well at the rate there going he would be the best choice... cause at least he got a  head start  on bring players in... or maybe he's just sitting back and waiting on  his fate as head coach of the panthers.... hell they fired his buddy in mid season... and promoted him with no coordinator experience "wow" so the only thing he has going for him there is the fact he was already on the coaching staff.... but the point is they need to do something and do it fast either way.... sound like a chitlin job too me....

CAU's football season is over.   However, I'd expect an announcement soon.  Wink

With the way that CAU has historically funded their program, what coach of any consequence is going to be interested in coaching there?

IMHO, there are only about fifteen HBCU's that are really truly serious about football in particular, and sports in general.  Outside of the top two or three CIAA teams, the top three or four SIAC teams, the top four or five SWAC teams, and the top four or five MEAC, everyone else is basically pissing in a 100 mph wind.  Maybe we should just take the best 20 HBCU programs, split them between the MEAC and the SWAC, and legislate everyone else out.

Now don't forget about another up and coming young coach in Shepherd Skanes at Concordia College-Selma. He might be what Clark-Atlanta need in picking up the Panthers of CAU. He would be a nice candidate for the job. It would be tough to pick between him a Higdon these guys deserve a chance to lead the CAU Panthers by far. Just for a standpoint look how Coach Skanes has resurected the Football program at Concordia and has done pretty good this season which is outstanding. So Clark wouldn't go wrong with deciding between these two young Coaches. nod

Coach Clark to coach at Clark. That would help set up bow tie bowl between FVSU and CAU.

I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Clark stayed at KSU (they haven't named their permanent coach, I don't think) and tried to work there. At least they fund their program a tad bit more than Clark does.
