This is going to be difficult for me to post.  Thank goodness Cally is not around anymore. lol  SU, you really surprised me today.  The first half was exactly what I been wanting to experience at our games.  I love the way you guys played your fight song to death durning the first half.  You really supported your team and had the crowd into the game.  You were the 12th man on the field until the 2nd half Central dragged you guys into those boring sectional battles, which you lost. nono2

Here is my take on the game:

School spirit- WSSU (you guys know when and what to play to encourage your team)
Stands- WSSU (Song seclections were better)
Halftime- WSSU (but not by far)
Sectionals- NCCU (Eagles won them all)
5th- WSSU (Coming to America did it)
Sound- NCCU
Overall- WSSU (today only)

Don't get me wrong, the Sound Machine did not do bad. It's just that Winston's band director knows how to play a football game.

Great job Winston.

WSSU been whompin that arse for the last 3 years bud...no surprise.

Cally is dreaming.  Winston has suffered many years at the hands of the Sound Machine.

2000: NCCU
2001: WSSU, I'll give the slight edge
2002: NCCU
2003: NCCU
2004: NCCU
2005: NCCU slight edge
2006: didn't play
2007: very close...
2008: WSSU
2009: WSSU

I can certainly admit....when a bands better, the last couple years have been easy walk aways with WSSU being on top, and almost any NON-NCCU member will and has agreed with me..

next!

We suffered a lot of years to a lot of schools.  We're back now!  The old heads know what I'm talking about.  nod

Dr. Magrudar has put together an awesome product at Winston.  I could imagine what they would look like in 2 years had they stayed in the MEAC.

They hardly traveled in the MEAC.  Atleast they will play more in the CIAA.  Keep A&T on the schedule and Magruder should still be able to attract recruits.

I am sure Magruder will keep them on track in the CIAA

The first close game with the Aggies, they are going to drop WSSU like a hot potato.  Look at the CIAA band programs as a whole.  It is difficult recruiting but not impossible.

What world did you live in?

WSSU traveled more than any band with the exception of "maybe" A&T..

In the 3 years with a MEAC schedule

They went to:

SCSU everytime
Morgan (1)
FAMU (2) which is unheard of!
NSU (2), the only reason they didn't go a 3rd was because NSU never returned the trip
Howard (2)
A&T, down the street

The only bands they didn't go see, was DSU & BCU, who NOBODY outside of DC ever goes to....DSU and nobody goes to BCU...except SCSU.

I'm pretty sure that A&T, WSSU, and NSU travel more than the rest...in the MEAC
