GOPers would never have known that. It's just not in them, nor do they comprehend.

when you people meet the president instead of shaking his hand bow to him.

i'm waiting for some proof that anyone remotely associated with the gop has a problem with president obama bowing to anyone in japan.

It did not take long for the GOP Machine to get cranking:
How Low Will He Go

The only thing we have yet to hear from these no idea republi-cants is whether or not he leaves a stain in the presidential commode.

Well as I live in Japan everybody bows. They do it all day when greeting and saying goodbye. If the GOP would take the time to understand other cultures maybe we would not be in the shape we are in. By the way the Emperor also bowed to Obama. But I guess the Gop didn`t tell you that. Thank God I bought the Japanese newspaper with that picture.

y01485 has a point.  The lead post suggest that the GOP had or was going to air an attack ad. I haven't seen an attack ad yet.  I don't think you can say that criticism from right wing publications and attack ads are one in the same.

if the japanese bow in the same manner as the south koreans the president's bow would correlate to the bow of the emporer.  since i have not seen how low the emperor bowed that photo of president obama is really a moot point.

No "Y,

A Servant's bow is when Knee-grow Republicans think it is OK for Right Wing Conservative Bigots to take over what was left of the Republican Party, and bow to kiss their Racist Conservative "rear ends" and not stand up for their own African-American People.  nono2

Now, if you know any of those type Conservative Republican Knee-Grow servants, please tell them that they all should be ashamed of themselves and that there is now an African-American President of the USA, who happens to be a Democrat.

Take Care!

Askia, why don't you go in a corner and sit down.  You haven't said anything new in 20 years.   Roll Eyes

Moving on.....
I'm STILL waiting on someone to respond to SPC FT post below on 'how to bow'.  Instead all I've read is name callin' by the usual suspects.

Today is my Birthday. Fate must be laughing at me, as it seems I have this unfortunate 'honor' to be in agreement with Oldsport. Here's why.
When I was a teenager I used to practice the ancient Japanese art of ninjitsu. We were taught how to bow as  one of the first things. There are at least two distinct bows in Japanese culture. Both show respect but one is among equals, as in competitors, and other other shows deference as in teacher-student. The key difference is in the head and  eyes. Among equals, you can bow as low as you want, as long as you maintain eye contact. Among your superiors you do not look at their eyes, you look at the floor, usually at thier feet.
The silver lining is that Japan has a democracy that is propped up by the US, and the Emperor is a ceremonial title. The real problem is when he bowed  to the Saudi King who is a real political leader in the world and not a figurehead.
WHoever is advising him on these protocols need to stop. Give these people a damn handshake, look them in the eye and keep it moving. He is a uniter who wants to work with other countries. Everybody  knows this. There is no reason to keep having all these photo ops of him showing servitude, especially since he is Black...

That's not our culture and YOU know it. Or you WOULD know it if your hyperpartisanship hadn't caused you to stop using common sense.
