Like I said, every other HBCU band play that song.  Give me something your band director wrote just for A&T.

Your right, Other bands TRY and play it...but ask a bandhead what band they think of when they hear "Smash something" or "Velvet Rope" and i guarantee you its A&T...

...NCCU is like FAMU because we play "In Storm & Sunshine" & made a bomb on the field (The bomb, by the way, was suggested by a student who doesnt really pay much attention to hbcu bands)

I love the Sound Machine man. Its the only band that can be really "out of the box" and not have our own identity at the same time. What sets A&T apart from the majority of HBCU bands? We gotta do better if your answer includes the words "Smash" or "Velvet"....

LOL If you can not see the similarities between what you all do now and what FAMU has been doing for what seems like an eternity then it is no point in carrying this conversation any further because it is quite obvious that you all are in total denial over there in the Bull City..

You can watch any HBCU band and see similarities.  We are the band that sticks out as being different.

::)Ok let's not act slow you know what I mean. Similarities in band programs yeah but Central is basically a knock off version of FAMU who throws in a "different" type show every now and then to step outside of the box. I mean just look no farther than Honda Battle of the Bands last year where in your show you all did the stick figure throwing the rock or whatever it was to hit the car now correct me If I am wrong but did not FAMU do the same exact thing just a few weeks prior at the Florida Classic but I'm sure one of your students just popped up with the idea to do it and wasn't aware that FAMU had just did the same exact thing shrug.

Honestly, I could care less about the baby fam reference...or the fact that yall made a bomb, WMD, or whatever explosive device you want to call it. Marching Band is like the rap game...everything that's being done now, has been done in the past...

Now as for Central being different, As a lover of music, I applaud them switching the game up. When people were clowning The Sound Machine for their use of a Percussion Pit at Honda, I was one of the first Non eagles to commend them. It really worked well For "Can you Stand the Rain."

On the same note, there is a fine line between thinking outside of the box...and completely loosing your audience. Let me take it back to that "Asian Janet" Show at Honda '08... the MSM decided to be so different that they left the audience with that WTF? feeling...y'all were the talk of Honda, but i cant say it was in a good way.... So yes the MSM is different from other HBCU Bands, but Keep it 100, "different" wont get you over with the Audience if its lost in translation...

Ried doesn't have to take a camera, they probably call him to get permission to use his music and ideas.  A lot of stuff you say is FAMU is Mr. Ried.  Why wouldn't he use his stuff.  Yall just jealous that the Sound Machine has come up and your Aggie band is not the talk of the state anymore.

See ya at Honda.

lmao^^^^^I will give you credit for one thing no matter how foolish some of your statements sound you love your Sound Machine. But let us not get things twisted, A&T has never been jealous of anything coming out of Central.
