You don't know that this is true. BTW Humphries almost ran FAMU into the ground but that is another story. Tuskegee's model is certainly successful. NCCU have different needs that Tuskegee thus their board make up is different. I would be will to bet that most University President would prefer TU make up over the ones you descibed.

NCCU? I said North Carolina A&T.

What is the current economic status of Tuskegee University as of 2010? Do tell.

Nova,

As I've told you repeatedly, if you were in the know, you'd know that it has already been said that there will be 5 finalists. And yes, I'm quite aware of who the donors to the university are.

And why don't I have a financial report as I am a donor and why am I not in the know as I am a donor?

If there are 5 finalist who are they?

I have know problem with having alumni on the board as long as they are the right people. Tuskege should not makre the same mistakes the these other schools are make by having their alumni stock these boards.

Take a look at this link and notice how odd Tuskegee is with excluding alumni members as the key leaders of the Board and as the largest number of members of the Board.

Have people like Tom Joyner and Lionel Richie etc ever been members of the Board of Trustees?

Are Messers Joyner and Ritchie either interested or qualified to serve on the BOT?

Qualified? Look at the people on Tuskegee's Board or Trustees and review that thought.

Question is have they ever been asked to sit on Tuskegee University's board instead of that bunch of folks who are appointed by the governor of Alabama.

It's also time that an alumnus is either the chairman of the board or the vice-chairman. It's time to stop allowing people who have no ties to Tuskegee University leading our board.

You like the current make up of the Tuskegee University board of trustees? You'd like to see it remain with this type of membership and the alumni to be blocked out? I like the mix Howard, Hampton and Morehouse have.

A few quick things of relevance and utmost importance.

1. You should read up on Covey's Circle of Influence.  The Cliff Notes version simply states we, as humans, tend to waste too much of our precious time and energy focusing on things we cannot change.  Yet at the same time, we fail to address those areas where we can affect change.

2. Reading is Fundamental!  I'm stepping off your proverbial merry-go-round.  You blatantly ignore a question and want to engage folks in periphery, supercilious tangential points/topics.  That dog doesn't hunt with me.

3. The proof (and truth) is in the pudding.  Folks are telling you what the deal is from their pov.  If you don't like the answer, you want to change to direction and flow.  It's similar to having a deep, philosophical thought-provoking discussion with a rambling drunk.

Why can't Tuskegee University change the make up of its board? In fact, long ago Booker T. Washington understood the need to change Tuskegee's charter and role with the state of Alabama and changed the board back then. It's 2010....the university can do that again. Doing the same thing over and over again doesn't make it right when you're in another century.

I've not ignored any question. I asked what is the update with the status of the hiring of the next president. There's only 3 months left until Dr. Payton is no longer working for Tuskegee.

‘87 Alum and Golden Kitten wouldn't you like to know who the finalists are for president? President Benjamin F. Payton announced his retirement to become effective June 30, 2010. That's only 3 months from now not counting the remaining 19 days in this month.

Dr. Payton, counting from today, only has 80 days remaining in office.

Hell, we all want to know, but until the search firm decides on the five finalists that meet the requirements we will all be in the dark.  I just want them to give us the five best quality candidates that they have, even if it goes a little past the deadline.  TU is at a very crucial place in its history.  The person that we choose, and the direction that they take us in during their first two or three years can make or break us if the wrong person is chosen.  Simply put, we cannot afford to ufck this decision up.  Let's make sure we get it right!!

Didn't Golden Kitten say that "those in the know" already were informed who the final 5 are? When a new president is hired they don't just say...I'm leaving my current job and show up the next day at the new job.

Tuskegee University's current president is not in office after June 30, 2010. How much time does this give for transition if there is currently no new hire and it's just over 3 months remaining for the current president?

Are we being setup for a mess in the making?
