Redskins Are Pursuing Trade for Cutler
Source Says Washington Inquired About Dealing Campbell

By Jason Reid and Jason La Canfora
Washington Post Staff Writers
Thursday, April 2, 2009; Page D01

The Washington Redskins were actively pursuing a trade for disgruntled Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler last night, according to NFL sources.

One source said the Redskins were trying to complete the deal as quickly as possible although at least two other teams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets, were also reportedly interested in acquiring Cutler. The two-year starter became available Tuesday night when the Broncos announced they would trade him. Denver officials could not be reached to comment last night.

The Redskins are declining to comment.

The source said Redskins owner Daniel M. Snyder has been pushing for the trade in an attempt to finally solve the team's decades-long pursuit of a franchise quarterback. Shocked Dang, just a kick a brutha when he's down?

that's all... tiptoe

Jay Cutler is just an above average QB; If he were Black, the NFL gurus would not even be considering him a Franchise QB.

The Redskins better put a lot of talent around him if they expect him to lead them to the Super Bowl

The Skinz are my team as well, but this is a huge mistake. He should have been trying to push for Boldin or Houshmanzada.

Yeah but he won't be a distraction either....The Bills have already started to see what the media loves about TO...he's always doing something.....While Valley ranch is quite nod ....everybody showing up for voluntary workouts.....I will miss TO's ability to make plays but I won't miss his mouth and various antics on the sideline and in the locker room....

Even though the Redskins did not block for him I really don't like Jason Candle as a QB (and the Candle is for those who saw his Geico commercial, which I like more than him).  Cutler will come in and do better.  But keep Candle around cause I hate the skins!  The kid from the Ravens came in out of college and learned a new system and did well after coming in from Deleware and being at Pittsburg before then.  Candle misses a lot of open receivers.

this 'he said', 'she said' nonesense between the Broncos front office and Camp Cutler is straight ignorant.  The media should not even cover this soap operish BS anymore.  If any owner or GM was smart, they would steer clear of this dude until he can get his head on straight.......and maybe this is the Broncos' MO at this point as I'm not sure who's leading the smear campaign.  Who ever is doing it is doing it well....

And for all the J Campbell bashing...dude is okay, not flashy.  When he keeps it simple,,,,,,ahem, rely on the running game and use the pass as a complimentary option, it's all good.  When they have to rely on him, he's a bit uneasy.  True, aside from hitting Cooley (TE) on 60% of his completions, he was spotty at best,,,but dude doesn't have the weaponry on the outside to stretch the field.  This was not his forte @ Auburn and I highly doubt if Zorn has developed this in him as of yet.

Jason isn't that diva type.  I see him getting back at them and his critics by improving on his 84 passer rating, 13 tds to 6 ints ratio in his contract year!
