Wildman, Charles Grassley carries some weight also.  He is not giving Geithner a pass.  Read 'em and weep.

His paying his taxes is not going to hurt him.  What will hurt him the most is failure to pay social security in a timely manner for domestic help.  That same worker had some immigration issues also.  If your memory goes back to the Clinton nominees' Senate hearings several of them caught a lot of flack for not paying social security taxes on hired help.  One nominee got grilled for not paying social security taxes on a child who cut his grass one summer.

BTW, the earliest he will get confirmed is after the Inauguration.

Read em weep? You're kidding right? He employed an immigrant housekeeper who briefly lacked proper work.
papers. Hatch has much more pull than Grassley.

Heres more:

As for the Republicans on the committee, they are sending signals that they will back Geithner. Orrin Hatch said he "still support him," while John Ensign told the Associated Press, "I don't think I see enough in there to cause a problem." Pat Roberts also said he was likely to support Geithner

Back to the topic of the thread.

Off base = out in left field = outside the mainstream, you get the idea.

Stuff like this:

Quote
This usurper will eventually be exposed. I fear irreparable damage will have been done to this country by that time. Any treaties will be void, important cabinet appointments will be thrown into question, etc. The sad thing is Obama knows he's a fraud. This America's real six degrees of separation

and this

Quote
Breaking story...may be coming confirming that Ann Dunham was in Kenya at the time she was due to deliver Obama Jr.

Not posting about the Geithner's past tax problems doesn't quite rise to the level of that wild conspiracy theory endorsed by "That One."

When did something like that happen at a GOP Inauguration?  He does have a good point.

I'm still trying to figure out who "THE ONE" is.
