"I have seen four bands so far this season:

FAMU
SOUTHERN
TUSKEGEE
MILES

They were all EXCELLENT!!  I hate to rate one against another, but I rate them as they are listed above.

What Bands have you seen?  How have they impressed you?"

"A&T & WSSU.

A&T was good but I did not care for the song selection. A&T tends to get better as the season goes on. They also appeared  to be  not as large as in past years. I laughed when the dancers ran off the field and changed props and ran back on. Someone made mention of this A&T habit last year on the 5th. It is really a very funny thing to witness. The girls have batons one minute, they run off, throw the batons down and  grab flags and run back on.  When done they  run off  again and throw the  flags down, put on white gloves and run back on to do the dance routine.  They  do all of this while the band plays on. One thing about it,  those  Aggie put those gals to work. No standing around for those sistas.

WSSU sounded about the same as past."

"Fair analysis except I‘ll downgrade A&T to ""all right."" I don‘t think our kids are ""punching"" as we used to say.  We were always small but always had a big sound. Gotta get in shape and really blow when they‘re on the field. Both sounded good in the 5th."

"I thought both bands were just ""ok"". nothing more , nothing less.
WSSU almost looked comical with 5 drum majors. Why so many for such a small band?"

The Sound Machine is doing wonderful.  There next real battle will be against A&T.  Good battles at Central is a thing in the past right now because both bands are sitting on the same side.  Sound Machine has more power this year.

FSU‘s band did a good job as well.

He must like hangin‘ out at the concession stand....while evrybody else is watchin‘ the Band.
I‘ll say 25% of an HBCU crowd came for the bands only.

"Cap,
You should have seen this sister (Miles Fan)  Wink   at the Tuskegee Baptism...4 inch yella heels. She walked by us 4 times. I started taking bets on if she stepped on a popcorn kernel and bust her head wide open on the 50 yard line.  lol"

";)  I enjoy BOTH!  I‘m sure at the PWC‘s, NOT EVERYONE heads to the concession stand AT halftime. Some of them enjoy their bands just as much as we enjoy ours.

  :nono:   Don‘t get it twisted."
