"I was in Charlotte this weekend and after checking with some friends from the area, they suggested that we consider the Charleston House as a location for dinner during the Pioneer Bowl.

Most folk who visit the Queen City consider McDonald‘s as the place to go, but that facility is no longer operating in its original form.

The Charleston House is African-American owned and provides an excellent menu.

Following the tradition of Paschals that we visited at the Pioneer Bowl a few years ago . . . Friday night at 7:00pm seems like a good time, unless you would prefer Saturday after the game.

Charleston House, 3120 the Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205, 704-334-9995.

Your feedback is requested."

"My family ate at the Charleston House for the first time this weekend.  The meal was excellent but it would be a bit pricey for some.  Customer service was also excellent.  The owner greeted each customer when they came in and visited each table during the meal.  I liked that.  If you like seafood I would suggest the Seafood Pasta or the Crab cakes. Orginally, I am from the Tidewater area and good seafood in North Carolina is hard to find.  The crab cakes get a BIG thumbs UP.  My family will definitely visit again...."

VSU Tro,

Even if the prices have increased from what is listed on the menu, they prices still aren‘t bad.    no    shrug    For those who do not want to participate, they do not have to show up."

"I‘ll do some checking to see about a special section for Onnidan Posters.

It will be hard to top the GREAT tailgate affair that Jaimac helped organize outside the Georgia Dome.

Not sure how many local Charlotte folks are into hosting so we‘ll shoot for a sit down, perhaps both nights."

If price is a concern then you guys might want to try Primes buffet off Billy Graham Pkwy not far from the old Mcdonalds cafeteria. Some might say its in the hood but I suggest this spot because I know you can reserve sections ahead of time. The food is pretty good for a buffet.

"Thanks for the suggestion, kwin2.

Maybe Primes one night and Charleston House on another.

Buffet one night and sit down and order on another."
