"Mama Dips hardly qualifies as ""upscale"".

How could you bring up Dips up over local ""Dillards"" on Fayetteville St.?"

Editorial Review for Dillard‘s Bar-B-Que – by

It‘s housed in the same building as a storefront church, so you may get to hear snatches of gospel while chowing down among Dillards‘ beat-up booths, folksy decorations, and college pennants. Dillard‘s barbecue is doused with its own spicy sauce (available by itself for true fans) and served with beans, slaw, good macaroni and cheese, and great peach cobbler. The staff is very friendly.
That Is Why. But as far as up-scaled, you may be right, Maroon & Gray.

Take Care!"

"Londel‘s Supper Club on 8th Avenue(Frederick Douglas Blvd) bet. 138th and 140th streets in Harlem.  Londel upscale restaurant is the place where New Yorkers go for fine Soul Food.

Most people know of Sylvia‘s, but it the tourist place.  Londel‘s is the spot!  Londel‘s is southern and creole cuisine."

"Georgia Brown‘s on 15th St. in DC is good ,but not Black owned.B Smith is getting kind of old.
I‘m feeling several Ethiopian restaurants off U St.

A place I really miss was Savoy‘s that was co-owed by Jim Vance and Darrell Green."
